Lighthouse Elopement in Denmark: Maria and Jared
Maria and Jared, who met in college 17 years ago, wanted a simple intimate feel for their elopement atop the lighthouse, Skjoldnæs Fyr, at the very northern tip of Aeroe island, a magical day symbolic of the next chapter in their lives.
As Maria said: "we are at home in nature anywhere we go, and climbing stairs for a view of the world is a special experience that we love to share every chance we get". And so they did. It was a windy day, but the clouds and mist from the sea lifted as they made their way up the winding stairs where Louise had prepared candles to guide their step, and took in the view as they toasted in champagne after the ceremony.
All beautifully captured by Camilla Jørvad (Update: Camilla retired from wedding photography in 2018 and we now work with the fantastic Neli Garnet) who gave the couple a lift to and from the lighthouse so they could do their portrait session while exploring the countryside and Danish architecture on their way back to The Old Merchant's Court cafe where their cake was waiting.
