Our flower aesthetic runs towards the wild, natural and romantic. We always aim to do things as sustainably as possible which means we create seasonal bouquets, preferably using only organic flowers and foliage from our local flower farms and from wild meadows and hedgerows across the island.

Each season has its own charm - its own scents, shapes and tones. We finish your custom bouquet by using vintage lace, twine or hand dyed silk ribbon to match the mood and style of your day.

We’ve put together some seasonal examples of both bridal bouquets, boutonnieres and floral arrangements so you can get some idea of what to expect depending on your wedding date. As the climate grows ever more unpredictable, most flowers no longer follow the old seasons as they used to, so this is only a soft guide based on past creations :

 

Spring

(April/May)

Tulips kick off the fresh flower season, closely followed by stunning fruit tree blossom, and by late May the most sought-after wedding flower unfolds: the peony.
Other favourites include lilac, iris, foxgloves, french anemonies, ranunculus, aquilegias, clematis and of course we all crave that fresh green foliage appearing everywhere. The colours available are naturally quite soft and cool this time of year, but especially in tulip season we can play with stronger warmer colours too.

 

Summer

(June/July)

Naturally, the summer season offers seemingly endless bounty and possibilities.

The stars of this season are the garden roses, sweet peas, cosmos, sunflowers, astrantia, the late peonies and the early dahlias, daisies, poppies, scabiosa, nigella, echinacea, ethereal grasses, lavender and other scented herbs like mint, rosemary, and lemonbalm, and too many more to count. The world is your oyster at this time of year ;-)

 

Late Summer
& Autumn

(August-October)

There is no doubt the main star of this time of year are the dahlias! Our local grower has more than 50 varieties in all colours and shapes and sizes. Other seasonal favourites to work with include hydrangeas, cosmos, sunflowers, a few repeat roses, and of course lots of beautiful autumn coloured foliage, grasses, and berries.

 

Winter

(November-March)

We save and dry a lot of different varieties of flowers, herbs, “weeds” and plant material all throughout the season to save for the winter months instead of shipping in fresh flowers from all over the world. There is so much interest in the many different shapes and textures in the seedheads left behind after the glut of summer flowers. And in late winter the hellebores make a stunning addition to these dried beauties. A dried winter bouquet, flower crown or boutonniere will last for years as a beautiful memory from your big day.
